How does it work?

• send a scan of your photo ID in advance via email. Then you…
• … conduct the test from home via login & camera (Skype or Zoom).
• Within 1-3 days, you’ll receive your confirmation by the assessor!

What do you need?

Your level of English-speaking competency must equal Level 6, which is the “expert” level of communication ability in the English language.

For how long is my ICAO Language Proficiency Test valid?

The ICAO Level 6 (“expert” competency) is valid for your lifetime.

What requirements will be met?

You can take the ICAO Language Proficiency Test online if your flight crew license is issued by an EASA member state in reference to EU (VO) 2019/1747. We provide the standard of ICAO Doc 9835 and FCL.055 e) which follows the “best practice” in all regards according to the recommendations of ICAO. The testing system also fulfills the latest requirements of the Annex I to ED Decision 2020/005/R.

License holders from other countries are recommended to ask their responsible CAA if they acknowledge this test and its certificate.

What is the content of the exam?

The exam exists of 2 parts and takes 40 minutes at the most. It is an oral exam with no written or multiple choice tasks. In the first part, you have to answer some non-technical questions. The second part is an open conversation. As you can see, no need to be nervous!

Regulations?

The test certificates issued are accepted acc. EU (VO) 2019/1747 in all EASA member states as well as Germany and Austria e.g. The language examiners are qualified in accordance with ICAO Doc 9835, 2 examiners each assess the exam.

The result of the respective language test is evaluated in accordance with the ICAO Rating Scale (FCL Appendix 2) and the “Holistic Descriptors” (FCL.055).

The test is carried out face-to-face AND voice-only according to AMC1 FCL.055 (Annex I to ED Decision 2020/005 / R).The test is carried out via Skype or zoom.

On site appointments are available upon request. The supervising authority for the LAB110 is Austro Control GmbH
